Funny thumbnail aside, this video is a serious look at something that drives me as an artist.
Chasing the Light
My photography and painting intersect in many ways, and one of those is light. I often choose a reference or place to paint based solely on the magical lighting I see. I almost don’t care what the subject is, because in a way, LIGHT is always my subject.
The video above does a pretty good job showing what I love about Scotland, and discusses some of the challenges of being addicted to chasing the light as a subject.
In painting, I’m especially drawn to how light dances through the forest, or glitters on the surface of water.
Light seems to be the mystery of my lifetime and I’m drawn to it above any other subject.
That’s all for now…more thoughts later.
