A lot has been happening this summer, especially in July. With lots of rain and sun, the forests, fields, and gardens are flourishing. This provides endless inspiration!
I recently shared lots of updates and scenery in my Summer VLOG:
I'm currently working on a large series of paintings, creating art classes, and keeping up with all my other tasks of running my art business. In addition we have lots of social events in July (why did we schedule them all at once?! WHY!)
We have been wandering the fields and forests, visiting the Gordon Castle Walled Garden, the Frank Bruce Sculpture Trail, and soaking up tons of inspiration.
Little Floki just turned 7 months old…growing up so fast!
After 8 months of waiting, I finally got my new hand tattoo, which celebrates my love and appreciation for nature. Nature plays a profound role in my self development as well as my artistic practice.

For my Edinburgh street photography I was using my Canon 6D Mark II with a 35mm f/1.4 lens. It was a fun challenge to work with a single focal length, and it reminded me how much I love this lens! It was so much fun.
Since we stayed in the Leith district, I tried to capture a variety of textures, colors, and architecture that combine to create a strong sense of place.
Here are some of my favorite images from the trip:
