I was going to write a little update between Jamaica and moving, but it all happened so fast. Now I’m left with a blurred memory of palm trees swaying in the breeze, desperately trying to recall the warmth of the beach sun.
A couple days after we returned from Jamaica, we had to start packing for our move.
I’m not new to moving, I’ve moved several times throughout my life, including once overseas! So I was pretty surprised that this particular move was such a shock to my system. Not only did I have two mental breakdowns over the last two weeks, but I also tweaked my back and had to take way too many pain killers to survive.
Oh, and I had to pay taxes during all of that.
Could it get any worse?!
Yea, I guess it could. But it took a toll on me.
I haven’t painted in two weeks. That alone is enough to drive me insane!
I sit here now, after two weeks of packing, cleaning, moving, cleaning, more moving, unpacking, cleaning, moving, unpacking, and organizing while trying to support my husband emotionally during his return to work, and keep my own sanity knowing that every day I wasn’t “working” I was losing money.
My whole schedule went out the window. To think, I actually believed I would be able to produce a painting video this week! HA!
Our new place is quite small, but we are making it work. I enjoy organizing my own space in order to make it efficient, so now that all the boxes are unpacked, and my game of tetris is nearing an end, I can start paying attention to a layout that supports my goals.

Living room / Studio space After
I am excited to have my studio space on the ground floor, near the “action” - and wait until you see our outdoor space! I definitely plan on painting outside a lot once it warms up. It will take me awhile to recover enough energy to be able to do a proper house tour, stay tuned!
Honestly, I think I will start to adapt a minimalist lifestyle, so that I NEVER have to go through such a difficult move again.
Lastly, I will return to my normal schedule next week.
