I have a quick update about the Forest Year Project! This was week 35 out of 52 and we spent a few hours wandering in the trees. We had to make up for the last two weeks where I barely spent more than an hour in a forest :(
The beautiful thing about living in the Highlands is that you don't have to travel far to reach some of the most peaceful and gorgeous scenery.
Once you get off the main fairways and start wandering down the quiet one-track roads through farmland and forests, you can easily stumble upon some real gems.
We recently went exploring a trail called Randolph's Leap and found ourselves deep in a local forest. After wandering for a while we discovered a "secret" local swimming hole (complete with a big tree swing). We never made to the Leap, but we had a blast exploring this amazing place, climbing around the rocks, and painting! I hope you enjoy these photos from our recent adventure.
It was super hot that day, and I was SO tempted to jump into the water like some others were doing nearby. Instead, I waded in up to my knees, and my toes were tingling in the cold water.
We spent some time hanging out on the rocks, and I was able to paint! Check out the video below if you are interested in experiencing this place from an artist's perspective.
